The Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund hosted a meeting with the Chairman of the Board, Farkhat Sarsekeyev, dedicated to clarifying the provisions of the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Public Council of Almaty, Makhambet Khasenov; the Chairperson of the Almaty branch of the Respublica Party, Sholpan Abdikhalikova; and Almaty Maslikhat Deputy from the Respublica Party, Kairat Begalin.
During the meeting, the speakers emphasized the importance of informed civic participation in the national referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution, which is scheduled for March 15 of this year. It was also noted that the development of the draft Basic Law followed a transparent and systematic process: the document was officially published on February 12 in the mass media and is available for review by all citizens.
Participants were briefed on the key provisions of the new draft Constitution, aimed at modernizing the public administration system, strengthening guarantees for citizens' rights and freedoms, forming a unicameral Parliament (Kurultai), establishing the Khalyk Kenesi as a platform for national dialogue, and introducing the office of the Vice President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Special attention was given to enshrining the protection of human rights in the digital environment at the constitutional level and strengthening the role of the legal profession within the justice system.
