The success story of Ultumas Aidarova is a vivid example of how years of experience, hard work, and entrepreneurial intuition can lead to the creation of a thriving manufacturing business. She began her journey in the 1990s by selling confectionery products at markets in Shymkent and later moved into the distribution of products from Russia and Ukraine. This experience and deep understanding of the market inspired her to establish her own production facility. Starting with the production of bagels and dried bakery products, the company gradually expanded its product range and manufacturing capacity. Today, the “YuzhKond” confectionery brand produces around 70 different products, including cookies, rusks, and shortbread items, with a monthly production volume of 70–80 tons. As the business grew, so did its workforce—from 10 employees to 60, most of whom are young people. The business environment has not always been favorable. Raw material shortages and rising prices became serious challenges for the company. However, Ultumas Utegenovna chose a strategy of resilience. “Don’t wait for help—develop yourself,” is the principle she follows, leading by personal example and daily dedication. An important milestone in the company’s development was the support provided by the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund. In 2021, under the National Project for Entrepreneurship Development for 2021–2025, the Fund subsidized 14.75% of the interest rate on a loan obtained through JSC Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan at an annual rate of 21.75%. This support reduced the company’s financial burden and enabled it to allocate additional resources to working capital and production expansion. Today, “YuzhKond” is one of the successful enterprises in the Saryagash district, contributing to the local economy and creating new jobs.
