The beneficial properties of the natural healing mud and brine of Lake Moyyldy have been known since ancient times, and in the early 20th century, a paid mud-bath clinic was established on the shore of the reservoir. The official year of the resort's foundation is considered to be 1922, when the health resort was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Pavlodar City Health Department. The peak of the sanatorium's activity occurred in the 1980s of the last century, but since the early 1990s, the resort began to decline. By 2003, the facilities were in a critical, semi-ruined state: three residential buildings, the boiler house, the summer dining hall, and the old mud-bath clinic lay in ruins, utility networks were destroyed, and the sanatorium's capacity was no more than 200 beds.

From 2003 to 2005, main efforts were directed toward paying off long-standing debts. In 2003, necessary repairs were carried out to welcome guests and generate revenue, which made it possible to partially restore a 6-story building with a capacity of up to 250 people as early as 2004. For many years, the management and staff of the sanatorium worked diligently and systematically not only to treat guests, but also to restore the entire infrastructure and increase the number of beds.

Over time, the sanatorium once again needed funds for large-scale repairs. Learning about the opportunities offered by the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund—a financial entrepreneurship development institution—the sanatorium's management, together with JSC "Forte Bank," successfully accomplished vital objectives within the framework of the "National Project for Entrepreneurship Development for 2021–2025." Thanks to the interest rate subsidization mechanism provided by the Damu Fund, part of the bank interest was covered by the state, resulting in a final interest rate of just 6% per annum for the entrepreneur.

Thanks to the hard work of the team and effective state support, today the "Moyyldy" Sanatorium is a modern resort that meets all current standards. The health resort operates 4 residential buildings with a total capacity of 609 beds. Having journeyed from complete devastation to prosperity, the sanatorium has regained its status as the leading health resort in the region.
