In October 2026, “Dobry Produkt” the agribusiness division of the TEKHNOVID GLOBAL group of companies, will launch Kazakhstan’s first potato storage facility under one roof with climate-controlled storage in Euro crates. The specialized complex will cover 17,450 m² and have a total storage capacity of 26,000 tonnes.
The complex will operate as a single integrated facility and will be capable of receiving up to 80 truckloads of potatoes per day, making it the largest potato receiving facility in Kazakhstan.
The facility’s key technological feature will be containerized storage with automated microclimate control. This provides individual ventilation for each storage unit and allows the quality and technological properties of potatoes to be preserved for up to 10–12 months.
The complex will become a key infrastructure link for supplying raw materials to new processing facilities in the region, in particular the new PepsiCo plant in the city of Alatau, which requires a stable year-round supply of contract-grown potatoes suitable for potato chip production.
Since 2018, “Dobry Produkt” has been developing agricultural infrastructure in the region. The company currently operates two vegetable storage facilities with a combined capacity of 6,600 tonnes (3,300 tonnes each), making it the only wholesale distribution center (WDC) in the Ili District with its own climate-controlled storage capacity. With the launch of the new facility, the company’s total storage capacity will exceed 32,600 tonnes.
The facility is being constructed with the support of the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund. Under Guarantee Fund 1, the Fund provided a guarantee of KZT 2.9 billion for the construction of the vegetable storage facility in the Ili District of the Almaty Region.
“The construction of world-class processing giants requires a fundamentally different approach to agrologistics. Potatoes used for chips and snacks must be in perfect condition — free from mechanical damage and signs of sugar accumulation. That is why we designed the country’s first 26,000-tonne single-site storage facility with climate-controlled storage in Euro crates.
Advanced climate-control systems allow us to carefully preserve the harvest, preventing losses and maintaining the required raw material parameters year-round. We are creating a reliable technological platform connecting Kazakhstani farmers with global leaders in the food industry,” said Sergey Khrushchyov, founder of the TEKHNOVID GLOBAL group of companies.
The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Akimat of the Almaty Region. The facility will also serve as the basis for a strategic reserve of socially significant food products for the region. This will help ensure the preservation of Kazakhstani farmers’ harvests, meet processors’ demand for high-quality raw materials throughout the year, and strengthen the food security and agricultural potential of the Almaty agglomeration.
