Every great success story has a beginning. For Gulsim Khamitovna, it did not start with business, but with a simple passion — a love for sewing.

By profession, Gulsim Khamitovna is an accountant. However, she has always devoted her free time to what she loves most: sewing, creating beautiful products, and gradually developing a growing interest in traditional Kazakh motifs. Over time, her hobby became more than just a pastime — it became something she wanted to turn into her own production business.

That is how Alshynai LLP came into being.

Today, in a small sewing workshop located next to Gulsim Khamitovna’s home, products are created where modern design intertwines with the traditions of the Kazakh people. The workshop produces chapan robes, traditional tubeteika caps, tor korpe quilts, and other items decorated with national ornaments. Every piece requires attention to detail, precision, and, most importantly, love for the craft.

The products of “Alshynai” have already found their regular customers. Among them are well-known poets from Karaganda, members of the creative community, and people who value national culture and want to wear garments created especially for them.

Support from the Damu Fund became a particularly important milestone in the company’s development. In 2023, Alshynai LLP received a loan through Alatau City Bank JSC. Due to insufficient collateral, the Damu Fund provided a guarantee, enabling the entrepreneur to obtain the financing she needed.

With the funds received, Gulsim Khamitovna purchased modern equipment for 3D embroidery. For a small-scale production business, this was a major step forward. The new equipment made it possible to create more intricate ornaments, improve embroidery quality, and expand the possibilities for custom-made products.

But Gulsim Khamitovna has no intention of stopping there.

Today, she has a new and ambitious dream — to have her own commercial premises.

At present, the production workshop is located next to her home, and this is where the story of “Alshynai” began. But the business is growing: the number of orders is increasing, while new ideas and plans continue to emerge. For Gulsim Khamitovna, having her own premises is therefore much more than simply owning real estate. It is an opportunity to create a fully equipped workshop, increase production volumes, purchase additional equipment, provide comfortable working conditions, and take her beloved craft to the next level.

The entrepreneur plans to make this dream a reality with the support of the Damu Fund through the “Іскер аймақ” program.

“Once, I simply sewed because I loved it,” says Gulsim Khamitovna. “Today, I understand that my hobby has become the work of my life. I want to continue developing and create a place where I can work, accept orders, and preserve our national traditions.”

Gulsim Khamitovna’s story is the story of a person who was not afraid to turn her passion into a business. It is the story of a small workshop that is gradually growing into something much bigger. And it is the story of a dream that is becoming reality, one step at a time.

For Alshynai LLP, every new order is more than just a job. It is an opportunity to preserve a piece of national culture, showcase the beauty of Kazakh ornamentation, and make traditional products part of modern life.

And there is still much more ahead — new premises, new opportunities, and new plans. Perhaps it will be within the walls of her future workshop that many more unique products will be created — products that will be worn not only by the residents of Karaganda, but by people far beyond the city.
